In Xi'an, the provincial specialty is noodles, since the ground is not suited for growing a ton of rice. Instead thy grow wheat and millet to substitute their diet. But they make really good noodles!! Also native to the Shaanxi province is black boogers!! These little buggers are the result of the local power stations burning coal. When it rains, and there has not been much wind, the rain can be acidic!! The black boogers comes from the fine coal dust that hangs in the air here. The dust collects inside the nose, and turns the boogers black!!! Talk to you soon!! Ray
